MVM architecture is part of the Joint Venture with “Ulza ndertim” and “G.P.G. Company” for the Reconstruction of the damaged schools in the Lezha and Kurbin areas. On November 26, 2019, at 03:54 CET, northwestern Albania was hit by a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4, with an epicenter 16 kilometers west-southwest of Mamurras. The tremor was felt in Tirana, as well as in places about 370 kilometers northeast of the epicenter. The quake killed and injured scores. The material damages were excessive. Many of the main settlements of over-Shkumbin Albania were ‘crushed’ by the earthquake; dwellings and buildings collapsed or became uninhabitable, causing considerable social impact.

In terms of magnitude, this was the largest earthquake to hit Albania in more than forty years. Immediately after the completion of the search and rescue operations, work began on the reconstruction and physical and social rehabilitation of the earthquake-damaged areas.

These reconstructions include the reconstruction of “Dan Bajrami” school and the reconstruction of “Llesh Nik Daka” school.

“Dan Bajrami” school and kindergarten is situated in Gjorm, Kurbin, the project idea of the school was elaborated from ICE sh.p.k.

“Llesh Nik Daka” school is situated in Shenkoll, Lezhe designed from ArchiSpace Studio and it will accommodate 535 pupils when it is reopened. The layout of the schools are a simple U providing both ease of access and mobility. Classes are designed according to the standarts in place.
